High Dependency Mental Health Unit
We offer a high dependency service specifically designed to care for patients suffering from long-term complex psychiatric conditions and challenging behaviour, including those with personality disorder traits that increase risks to themselves and others. These individuals may suffer from schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, bipolar affective disorder, severe depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other affective disorders. They may also have secondary diagnoses of personality disorder and substance misuse.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Team will assess the needs of the patient, devise and implement bespoke programmes of treatment to optimise activity, and social engagement, maximise physical and mental health, and minimise risk and agitated behaviour. Programmes are tracked to assess progress and the impact of interventions.
All this takes place in a safe environment with facilities for both quiet and energetic activities, in which residents can feel engaged or simply relax.
