The majority of referrals to Bloomfield Mental Health Service have some form of dementia – Alzheimer’s Disease, Early Onset Dementia, Vascular Dementia, Dementia with Lewy bodies, Frontotemporal Dementia, Alcohol-related Dementia etc.

Our trained healthcare professionals understand the complex challenges that people with dementia can face.
We encourage social interaction and meaningful activities to help improve the quality of life of residents, and we offer a caring and stimulating environment in which best practice can be provided.

Access to outdoor areas is very important for people with dementia and, as Bloomfield has with extensive landscaped grounds, patients and their families can avail of our multi-sensory gardens and panoramic views. In conjunction with our dedicated staff, our facilities help to provide real benefits to residents including improved mood, better eating habits, new friendships, increased levels of physical activity, alertness and rekindled interest in activities and hobbies.

Our aim is to treat the symptoms of dementia and to provide a caring and stimulating environment for residents in which they can feel both comforted and comfortable.
