Senior Physiotherapist

We are seeking applications for the position of a Senior Physiotherapist for a permanent full-time role.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to play an integral and active role in a committed Multidisciplinary Team to make a significant contribution in the area of physiotherapy.

The Senior Physiotherapist will work with residents with Huntington’s disease, dementia, neuropsychiatric presentations, enduring mental health conditions and emerging physical disabilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for clients according to professional standards.
  • Collaboration with resident, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning.
  • Participate in the multi-disciplinary/healthcare team and work in co-operation and collaboration with team members.
  • Maintain comprehensive clinical records of patients/residents assessment, interventions carried out, communications relating to patients/residents.
  • Manage, participate and play a key role in the practice education of student physiotherapists and promote and engage in the teaching/training/support of others as appropriate.

The successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Be registered (or in the process of registering) on the Physiotherapist register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have three to five years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
  • Hold a degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for
  • membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
  • Have established clinical and management experience in the areas of Mental Health, Older Persons, Frail Elderly and have clinical experience of associated medical conditions and/or in palliative care.
  • Previous experience in a mental health environment and working with Huntington’s patients is an advantage.
  • Have a good knowledge and experience of health, safety and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
  • Excellent people management experience and skills.

Clinical Nurse Manager 3

We are seeking applications for the position of a Clinical Nurse Manager 3 for the role of Person in Charge in New Lodge Nursing Home for a permanent full-time contract.
The Person in Charge is assigned the responsibility and authority to lead and manage a high quality best practice nursing and care service.
This is an exciting opportunity and a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. Key responsibilities will include:

  • The continued strategic and operational development, co-ordination and management of New Lodge Nursing Home in accordance with national and regulatory standards and with regard to best practice.
  • Ensure that the nursing service provision is delivered to the highest standard of treatment, care and that safety is maintained.
  • Ensure the highest standard of compliance with regulatory programme including Health & Safety and Risk Management standards.
  • As an active leader have the knowledge and experience to deliver operational change programmes in the nursing service.
  • Collaboration with resident, family, nursing, carers and other staff in goal setting and care planning.
  • Participate in the multi-disciplinary/healthcare team and work in co-operation and collaboration with team members.
  • Ensure that all practices, procedures and policies conform with the service and strategic plans of the organisation.

The successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • A Registered Nurse (with An Bord Altranais or with eligibility to register).
  • Possess 10 years post registration nursing experience consisting of at least 3 years’ experience nursing older people in the last 6 years and 5 years nursing management experience.
  • Be educated to QQI Level 8 on the Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) Framework in nursing or related field.
  • Possess a post registration QQI approved management qualification in health or a related field.
  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative competencies.

Healthcare Assistant

We are seeking applications for the position of Health Care Assistant for full permanent roles.

This is a great opportunity for both experienced and newly qualified Health Care Assistants to be an active part of a committed multidisciplinary team and to make a significant contribution in the area of mental health.

The successful candidate will have completed a QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare and will have a minimum of 6 months experience as a Healthcare Assistant. Previous experience in a psychiatric environment is an advantage.

Mandatory Healthcare modules required are: Communications, Work Experience, Care Skills, Care Support, Safety & Health at Work.

Elective modules are:  Recovery Mental Health, Social Studies, Care of the Elderly, Nutrition, Activities of Living Patient Care , Infection Prevention & Control , Human, Growth and Development.

A panel will be formed for future positions.
