Christmas Programme
16.12.11
This year the Christmas programme at Bloomfield was bigger and better than ever as we’ve had a month long selection of activities.
We’d a special screening of ‘It’s a wonderful life’ with hot chocolate and mince pies to kick off the Christmas season followed by arts and crafts sessions. Our friends at Rainbow Ceramics helped us to create handmade personalised decorations for the tree. We hosted a Christmas quiz
A number of residents, family members and volunteers joined us for a trip to the Grand Canal Theatre to see Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. All agreed it was a fantastic show, enjoyed by all and we were looked after very well by the kind staff at the Grand Canal.
We had our own in-house drama group wowing the residents with their production of ‘The importance of being earnest’ – well done to all. Our friends at Carnation Theatre came back to perform ‘Help my family’s gone vegan’ – A Christmas themed show where the residents participated in saving Christmas!
We have been well supported by local schools and groups and we’d like to thank them all for enhancing the Christmas programme every year. This year we had performances from St Columba’s School, Ballyboden School, Stratford College, the Quaker Youth Club and we had a beautiful concert from the Dublin Piano School.
We’re finishing next week with a Hanukah party, a final sing-a-long and will celebrate the New Year with a special New Year Bingo session. Please see attached a full copy of the christmas programme.
