Bloomfield Olympics 2011
06.7.11
The Third Annual Bloomfield Olympics began the week of the 27th June to much excitement! This year was bigger and better than ever, with activities on twice daily and a large closing ceremony on last day. The Olympics was led by the OT and Activities team and supported by all staff.
Over 60 residents and family members joined in over the week. Activities included Darts, Scrabble, Skittles, Ball Games, Quizzes, Wii games and the very popular Football Penalties.

Many residents helped out to prepare the room, plan the activies and read out Bingo numbers and questions. We discovered we had some excellent sword fighters through the Wii games and the makings of both a Bowling and Football team!

At the closing ceremony residents were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and certificates by the Director of Nursing. Some residents were awarded trophies for outstanding achievement in the Olympic Games. As the Senior Occupational Therapist reminded everyone, 'Don't worry about London 2012, lets all get into training for Bloomfield Olympics 2012'!
