Education and Research
Our vision is to provide a continuous learning environment where best practice in care is achieved through the highest standards of service quality, innovation and academic excellence.
We are uniquely placed in our flexibility to work with a range of partners in service development, education and research, including the HSE, Trinity College Dublin, Tallaght & St. James’ Hospitals and the local community.
Bloomfield is in the process of developing training and continuing professional education programmes, both centre-based and within the community. These programmes are built around knowledge and experience, and we are exploring appropriate research opportunities in the areas of:
- Psychological and sociological factors involved in ageing
- Mental health and emotional well-being
- Strategies for care provision in the area of psychiatry of old age, that will enhance dignity, quality of life for residents and support for carers at all levels
- Care protocols and clinical audit
